Tomorrow is #WorldMigratoryBirdDay!

We’ve been watching the BirdCast Migration Dashboard and are amazed by the scale of nightly migrations across the continent.
Birds know no borders! Protect migratory routes. Raise awareness. Keep skies safe.

The fact that fines are so miniscule might have something to do with that. Its much cheaper to keep being caught and pay the fines than to do the right thing.

How the world and all of us need this story of healing the Earth!
We can do this.
“I have never really been the owner of these forests, nor could I be.”

The wonderfully inspiring story of a Columbian ex-rancher, who turned from destroyer of forests to their protector and restorer, establishing a 7,500-acre nature reserve teeming with life.

Trees and bushes along rural and main roads reduce visibility and light, affecting road safety (particularly under bad weather). But they are pretty much all widerness we have left.

I've never seen a linx hunting deer or fox. Their diet is mosty based on rabbits, hares and pigeons. They are gorgeous though.

Hill farmers state sea eagles are killing hundreds of lambs in Scotland. Conservationists acknowledge lamb remains are common in sea eagles nests but large killings are unlikely. Lack of usual prey may also be exacerbating the problem @whittledaway.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/environment/...
‘I’m used to people thinking I’m lying’: are Scotland’s sea eagles killing hundreds of lambs?
Bringing back the long-vanished bird to the UK was hailed as a conservation triumph. Then farmers started finding the corpses of their prized livestock

This is why I'm nearly PhD-student-less.
