I remember watching it on ch4 with no idea it was a debut, but thinking it must have been a modern classic I had somehow not been aware of. Still consider this to be DT’s best film. 🖤
Tonights watch is BFI 4k restoration of @realgdt.bsky.social's 1992 debut, CRONOS, a movie I've adored since catching it late night on ch4 sometime in the 90s. Gorgeous restoration, brilliant booklet & extras & the film itself is a beautiful twist on vampirism that foreshadows Del Toro's later work.
