Nazi “degenerate art” talk, keep making absurdist plays and Dadaist conceptual art folks it’s historically proven to really upset them
Stephen Miller: "The scandal is how Democrats & the left scarred the landscape of our country w/grotesque so-called modern art that celebrates ugliness ... very importantly, President Trump is making sure it's in the neo-classical design around which our nation's architecture has long been directed"

i genuinely did start work on a short essay on this, arguing for a bdsm framework that would take "consent is sexy" to its conceptual extreme the same way the structural expressionism movement in architecture exposed the inner workings of a building and in so doing elevated function into art
🧵
ye, i find some of the most extreme eroticism in integrating consent into a scene in a way that both:

1) makes it so the sub (and in your case the voyeurs made accomplices) are in control of the flow in the power exchange

2) in a way that makes it moral/emotional exhibitionism, that.. (.cont)

I’m feeling positive and excited about new projects! I rarely say things like this so it’s a very pleasant experience.

Surprised face.

It really is striking how much they want us to see images of their own brutality. The pretense of being anything but a exercise in violence has all but disappeared.

Preliminary cover design for my artbook: "Wish You Were Here: The Brutality of Spectacle".

The book will contain graphic images of execution postcards and poses the question: why were these images made into postcards?

Favourite artist of the day: Doris Salcedo. She describes her work as ‘a topology of mourning’; in each of her sculptures, installations and public projects Salcedo bears witness to life that has become the casualty of a political agenda.

Favourite artist of the day. Today it's: Serbian artist Marina Abramovic. She has marked the history of art with her intense and moving performances. Like Bruce Nauman, Vito Acconci and Chris Burden, she is one of the artists who introduced performance to the world of art.
