Wastewater-based epidemiology & surveillance have made enormous strides in recent years, demonstrating utility in characterizing pathogen distributions in populations. However, current methods are too costly to be scalable in LMICs where the need for improved disease surveillance is greatest. (1/2)

Projecting the impact and costs of near point-of-care tuberculosis screening assays in community-based active case finding
Community-based active case finding (ACF) may reduce tuberculosis incidence and mortality but is not widely implemented due to resource constraints. How novel screening test characteristics would affect the impact and costs of ACF strategies is not clear.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Public trust in vaccines is built on facts, honest & transparent communication, and steady expertise. Replacing ACIP’s scientists with outspoken skeptics does the opposite.

By remaking CDC’s vaccine advisory panel, RFK Jr. is destroying public trust
Eliminating ACIP’s expertise on the eve of critical votes about flu and RSV vaccines will delay guidance, confuse clinicians, and cost lives.
