Life was very messy for me growing up. I survived with the encouragement of educators and was able to overcome adversity.
I was lucky. But life shouldn't about luck. Policy can help young people like me thrive. Imagine a place where all kids get a go?! I explore this with The Smith Family.

Truly one of the greatest scientific images I have ever seen
Our new paper (with @biotay.bsky.social) is out and on the cover story of @currentbiology.bsky.social !!!! Veronika, a Carinthian mountain cow flexibly uses a “multi-purpose tool” to scratch herself. A video and more information will follow in the comments.

"So, for example, in the British House of Commons any direct reference to a member as lying is unacceptable, even if the allegation is substantively true."

What?!

Made me wonder, is bullsh*t unparliamentary language? (Yes, it is listed as an example)

Something I found interesting about this article was that at the end, the people they interviewed said we probably do have plastics in our body, but they were unsure on how bad they were for our health:

I've had my Bialetti since 2021. I love the green and red. My partner prefers French press, so I once drew us as coffee pots/plungers in love on the back of a postcard from Rome.

Are you a scientist?

Is your research cool?

Do people not adequately appreciate how cool your research is?

I'm looking for researchers to feature in Q&A-style interviews on my blog and would love to hear from (or about — embarrass your friends!) scientists interested in sharing their work. 🧪
