Instead of a global leader in science, the CDC has devolved into “a propaganda machine for RFK Jr.'s fixed, immutable, science-resistant theories,” said @pauloffit.bsky.social.

If you're trying to convince your friends to spend time on Bluesky rather than X, maybe show them this. X is not "the public town square" or about "free speech." It's "just what Elon Musk wants you to see." If you see stuff he doesn't like he'll step in to make sure you don't see it for long.
If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.

There’s nothing wrong with healthy living.

It just won’t prevent disability. It won’t make you bulletproof.

Telling people to “get healthier” if they want to afford healthcare is effectively telling sick people to accept being left to die.

Healthcare for all.

Comey's reply on his motion to get grand jury transcripts is by far the most interesting of the filings in that case today (including govt cherry pick of transcript).

A lot of this explains why the 2nd indictment would have problems even if it was legal.

I think these numbers remind us that we need to grapple with whether Twitter gets the amount of attention it does because people use it or because journalists still use it as their assignment editor and as the laziest, most inaccurate “Here’s the word on the street” source on earth.
NEW: YouTube remains king of the social media platforms in @pewresearch.org polling, with 84% of US adults saying they use it. TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp and Reddit are notable gainers in recent years. Five times more adults use X than Bluesky (21% vs. 4%). www.pewresearch.org/internet/202...

When Marimar Martinez was shot five times by ICE, they claimed she was the threat.

She was “ramming their vehicle” and brandishing a weapon.

She ended up with 7 holes in her body.

All charges against her were just dropped.

Now they need to charge the agent who shot her!
Federal prosecutors move to dismiss charges against Chicago woman shot by Border Patrol
Prosecutors had accused Marimar Martinez and another defendant of ramming their cars into a federal vehicle in October. Her legal team argued it was federal agents who rammed her.

Instead, the Coast Guard will classify the Nazi-era insignia as “potentially divisive”

This is on Senator Bill Cassidy. He could have blocked this nomination, and he could still call hearings, but no, he's all-in with protecting his career, not the American people.
RFK Jr's 'gold-standard science': in which data is ignored and/or removed to fit the preferred narrative even if doing so risks the spread of vaccine preventable diseases. I am sure Sen. Cassidy (Chair of the HELP committee) is very proud the header as not been removed.
