I love seeing people go hysterical over our new mayor from 5,000 miles away. Just another 4 years of this, I’m sure it will be great 👍🏻

My alma mater is in the news! But not for good reasons.

Seems like bad wiring in a decrepit frat house got someone ELECTROCUTED while tied to a metal chair for hazing. www.nydailynews.com/2025/10/25/r...

I've aways found this LOVE Park clip fascinating, from a time when it was mostly off-limits for skateboarding. When an Occupy encampment went up, skaters seized the opportunity.

Nicely articulates the sport's apolitical individualist anti-authoritarianism. So very American youtu.be/luusm0mGkMg?...

Most city councils don't understand this. Popular images of a "skatepark" usually involve pools & half-pipes, which take a lot of room & money to build, but are way less popular w/ users than curbs and ledges

"many of the most enticing spots, to me anyway, were nothing more than simple granite benches, about 14 inches tall, placed in areas with nice smooth ground and ample space...It takes a skateboarder to know that you don’t need a big, expensive park to make skaters happy."

FUN FACT: Bladee's hit song "Missing Person," from the "Eversince" album, is actually about about Thomas Pynchon

Remember the labor market after Covid? Workers suddenly had more bargaining power. AI fixes that

As @lorenagonzalez.bsky.social president of @californialabor.bsky.social says, now that #AB288 is law, "California workers will no longer be forced to rely on a failing federal agency when they join together to unionize." This is a LANDMARK WIN!

i'm still boycotting disney. it's got nothing to do with jinmmy kimmel i just dont like them

This is why it pays to have a union. You want someone with infrastructure to fight on your behalf.

Update: I’ve placed a new entry in the “embarrassing” tier (but he does at least have the right footwear)

Adding AOC to my "Politician Action Sport Ranking Index"

Current standings:

1. Tulsi surfing (sorry but she seems pretty good)
2. John Kerry snowboarding (also pretty good but an easier sport)
3. Obama body surfing
4. AOC surfing

Embarrassment tier: JD Vance skiing & Beto O'Rourke skateboarding
I have been taking surfing lessons. Still in the beginner kook trenches, but celebrating my last time on a foam board 😎

Graduating to a hard top next session.

It’s fun to learn new things! Even if you look like a goober at the beginning. 🏄🏽‍♀️

“Return to office” is mostly about commercial real estate, right?

If that’s the case, I’m calling it now: once values get high enough, the ownership class will sell their buildings, go back to remote, and pat themselves on the back for being business geniuses
