First watch: The Small World of Sammy Lee (1963), written and directed by Ken Hughes (best known to me for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!) and starring the multi-talented Anthony Newley. Once-forgotten, ace noir set in multicultural Soho: a world of peep shows, jazz clubs, bookies and loan sharks. 1/4

Seriously, either his booking agent is trying to kill him or it's some sort of geographical spell.
Everything's terrible, except for it's the 8th of January, and in just a couple of hours Peter Bleksley kicks off his absolutely bonkers tour of the UK and Ireland.
I needed to map it to see if there was a rhyme or reason to his route, but no, it's just as maniacal as it seemed.

I was once wringing out a cloth, when my hand slipped. I punched myself in the eye, giving myself a blackeye.
