I can't tell you how absolutely livid I feel about the fact that, while I'm checking in with Los Angeles friends to make sure they and their homes are safe, certain Republican senators are going on TV and explaining with shitty little grins how LA had it coming and doesn't deserve relief aid.

This is 100% something Trump has not so much created as disinhibited. It’s gobsmacking that you have a historic human/natural disaster and you have people not only blaming the victims but aggressively making fun of them as the visit the hulks of their former communities and homes.

When simple problems go unfixed, that burden falls on the Maryland taxpayer. And we won’t accept that kind of irresponsible governing.
We need to do a better job of figuring out how we can maximize the money we already have, to get the best possible results.

Today's executive order to launch our new Government Modernization Initiative will allow us to modernize our processes and streamline costs.
And we anticipate that our efforts to modernize government will save Maryland taxpayers $50 million in the current fiscal year alone.
