Buried in Adam’s attempt to beat Mamdani is that the grant is only for $92,000, and only would be eligible to organizations whose clientele are mostly trans and non-binary. Almost no one in this space has primary trans clientele. Places you’d expect like Callen-Lorde probably wouldn’t qualify.

I think it’s super fucking weird to be a transmedicalist arguing that diagnosis legitimizes you in a time when RFK is trying to delegitimize the diagnosis and gender recognition certificates in the UK don’t mean shit. Institutions will never grant you freedom.

There’s a smudge on my camera sensor, and the cleaning kit for it doesn’t come until tomorrow. It’s snowing today though, so I guess these snow day pictures are just going to have a out of focus thumb print overlaid on everything.

2025 has been a year of hope and warmth in small spaces, in harsh contrast to overwhelming dread of the world. It’s been hard to reconcile that, to see the small acts of care of people finding community in one another despite the crush we’ve faced as trans people. But I’m glad to have experienced it

So I got a new iPad Pro, but discovered that my old pencil is incompatible with it. I’m less annoyed with the incompatibility in of itself, than the pencil branding that obscures the four variants of pencil products that exists and their compatibility.

Regulations meant to protect you can’t be decided by agency experts, instead need to be specifically written by congress according to our Supreme Court. But bet they won’t give a fuck about these same agencies fucking you for no real reason and without congress. Trans kids will be proof of that.

This shit where the executive can just come in and arbitrarily declare medical treatments illegal is exactly why America will never have universal healthcare. The party fearing death panels will gladly skip past the panels if they think you unworthy.

Democrats Henry Cuellar, Vicente Gonzalez and Don Davis have voted to make gender affirming care for trans youth a felony. Shame on them for their demonization of trans people and inflicting suffering on those we are meant to protect.

I’m pretty sure my iPad Pro’s battery is starting to bloat. It’s a second gen iPad Pro, so eight years of service is about as good as I can hope to get from it. Just kind of hard to justify a pro model specifically.

There really is only one reason why things can continue on like they are in the US, pivoting systems away from American hegemony is too expensive and risky for now. Trump effectively pushes how far he can go before everyone else is forced to flip the table over. But there is a point that happens.

Scratch that. America’s failing because it’s allowed it’s foundational moral failings of colonialism and slavery to fester with attempts to undo what redressing it had done in basic civil rights. A nation given into vice, deluded with a false sense of moral authority now breathtakingly absurd.

Because Trump is nothing, he is useful as a mirror. His success mirrors the dysfunctions of our politics & media. His support mirrors the resentments & fears of his supporters. His fearsome reputation mirrors the insecurities of the left.

America is broken because the executive can just do whatever, and so long as a single chamber of the legislature is aligned with them, there is effectively no actual check in power. It’d take constitutional amendments, if not a new one to fix all of this and no one will make the effort.
