Loss is a terrible thing. A tidal wave of grief can overwhelm without warning. It doesn't matter how much time goes by. Grief is a living, breathing thing.

Take good care this holiday season. Be kind and patient with yourself.

Well this got me right in the eye! Goodness.
Sometimes everything inside of you is crying but your eyes.

I failed miserably! Feeling rested though so there’s that I guess!
Right! Determined to watch an episode of something without falling asleep on the sofa this evening!

You don’t realise how much your career confidence relies on life outside work being relatively smooth sailing. My miscarriage was the turning point.
Followed by rounds of fertility treatment. No one tells you that driving your career also means navigating through your big messy life events. #ivf

What’s happening at home can impact work and what’s happening at work can impact home. This is why #fertility, #miscarriage, #ivf can be very intertwined with a loss in career confidence for some people. That’s why I coach with a fertility lens.

I appreciate all of you who use the Alt-text description for the images you post. As a blind dude I feel so much more included here.

For those of you who forget:
Did you know there’s a reminder in Settings/Accessibility to toggle on & then it won’t let you post image without Alt-text.

Thanks 🙏😎

A morning love letter to my fellow perfectionists, start today with this reminder that perfect doesn’t exist. Give yourself permission to aim for just good enough today. We are allowed to be mediocre sometimes!

Procaffeinate…much kinder than “please eff off, I just can’t with today yet”
Word of this morning is ‘procaffeinate’: to put everything on hold until you’ve had sufficient amounts of coffee.

Fertility challenges can make you pause your career goals.
Not that you stop working hard. It's more that you might not have the capacity to take on the extra project or put your hand up for the promotion. It might be that you're holding out for maternity pay so you don't apply for the dream job.

This is on my list to watch. Although I have heard it’s a little triggering if you’ve been through IVF. Anyone watched it?

I imagine they have thought it through and are completely aware how it sounds…but culture wars and sowing division trump actual thoughtful journalism
The @DailyMailUK is attacking plans not to require lesbians have sex with men before having access to IVF on the NHS. Are they

a) homophobic and need calling out?
b) utterly stupid and haven't thought through publishing this bile
c) all of the above

Trans men and lesbians get IVF priority ahead of straight couples
Under the controversial proposals, trans men - those born as women who now identify as men - will be automatically assumed to be unable to conceive, as will lesbians and single women.

Does anyone else’s brain call this app “butterfly” when they go to open it or just me? The logo is messing with me.

The Sunday scaries were huge for me when I was struggling with fertility. I’d dread having to put a brave face on at work.
Cooking a big Sunday lunch was such a mindful salve for me back then. Theres something ritualistic about making a Sunday roast with love. #mindfullness can be cooking. #ivf

My favourite dog rater is here!
This is Meatball. He's going home for the very first time. So excited to have a human of his own. Thinking about what he's going to call you. Maybe Bob. 12/10

Hi diabetes friends on here! Does anyone have any experience doing IVF with t1d? Asking for me and for information gathering reasons.

Oh this is such an important share, thank you. I don’t think we talk enough about the impact of failed IVF cycles. Trauma related anxiety is a very common outcome. #infertility #ivf
