The Science or Magic or whatever is about telling a specific type of story and "how does the magic work" doesn't matter.
Like, I love a rich magic system, I've engaged with D&D for decades, but if the story is about the people, we don't need 50% runtime on the magic. Just focus on the people.

The Audience doesn't care either. Because that's never been what the show was. It only asked "did god do this" in the context that the characters screamed "DID GOD DO THIS?!".
It feels more honest and I found it much less frustrating. (And to be clear, I enjoyed both Lost and BSG)
