Just saw "Nuremberg". One of Russell Crowe's best roles in years. The dynamic of the Hermann Goering-Douglas Kelley (the Malek character) relationship is the most interesting part of the movie. The recreation of the Nuremberg Trials themselves is solid. Kelley is not the most sympathetic character.

Great to hear "Gremlins 3" is coming. I always loved the first one. The second one is an under-appreciated gem. John Glover and Robert Picardo stand out in a stacked supporting cast. Those gremlins can certainly pull off an elaborate production number with minimal prep.

Tired of all this snow! I like it up to when it starts causing problems. That happened almost a week ago. Hasn't gotten over freezing since.

Got to see Black Phone 2, finally. Liked it even more than the first one. Just different enough from BP 1. Winter is always a good horror setting. Good opening. We see the mother. Finn has learned to kick ass. Gwen is more troubled then spunky. Duran Duran is name-checked. Miss those rotary phones.

@crobertcargill.bsky.social Just saw "Man finds Tape" and loved it. Very unpredictable, no easy feat these days in the found footage/pseudo-documentary genres. Keeps you guessing.

If you're a horror fan, check out "Man Finds Tape".Despite the generic title, it's actually a very complex, unpredictable film. It's done as a documentary by a woman about the small town she's from and a mysterious viral video and the effect it seems to have on townspeople. That's just the beginning.

Finished watching "Death by Lightning". Superb miniseries about a period of history that often gets overlooked. Brilliantly showed the backroom machinations and corruption in politics at that time. If Garfield had lived, I think he'd have been a good-to-great president. As for Charles Guiteau, wow

Finally saw "Bring Her Back", the Philippou Brothers awesome follow-up to the equally awesome "Talk to Me". As far as "Bring Her Back", most movies, whether you like them or not, remind you of other movies. This one didn't. A true original. #grapefruit

Beyond bummed at the passing of Ace Frehley. He was one of the greats. He seemed invincible, especially after his many near-misses. :( #RIPAce

A friend of mine just sent me a video of "The Wizard of Oz" at the Sphere in Vegas as an immersive (to put it mildly) experience. Incredible. I'm thinking of all the movies that they could do this with. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXNN...

In anticipation of seeing"Weapons" Friday, I wanted to watch Zach Pregger's previous film, "Barbarian" again. Even better second time around.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Loretta Swit. She was an integral part of M*A*S*H. Fave 2 Margaret moments both involved Radar - 1)Her freaking out when told she can't call her husband and she destroys the office. 2) Radar thinking he's walked in on something when she's giving Hawkeye a flu shot.

Watched "Train to Busan" a couple of nights ago. Very good! Little bit of "28 Days Later" and "Dawn of the Dead", plus some very emotional and poignant moments (not to mention some very tense moments). Some amazing films coming out of South Korea.
