A million Muslims live in New York City. We belong here, as does every other New Yorker.

This is vile Islamophobia from the Councilwoman and it has no place in our city.

Two victims of previous school shootings — Mia Tretta, who was shot in the stomach in 2019 at Saugus High School, and Zoe Weissman, who survived the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — are now at Brown. Gun violence is out of control in this country.

Mass shootings always hit me hard but there’s something extra gut wrenching about it happening at a place you know so well and have such beautiful memories of. 15 years ago I sat in that exact classroom.

Biomedical research isn't a YouTube video, you cannot hit pause for an indefinite period of time and then hit play whenever the regime wants.

Samples are destroyed, labs dismantled, scientists leave...
Here's what this means: it's probably unlawful forPOTUS to stop NIH funds from going to medical research, but POTUS can stop that medical research for a lengthy period of time while the Court of Federal Claims hears lawsuits

This, essentially, destroys the capacity for medical research in the US
Splitting 5-4 (with Chief Justice Roberts joining the three Democratic appointees in dissent), #SCOTUS grants *partial* stay to Trump administration in NIH funding case; holds that challenges to grant terminations (but *not* the underlying guidance) need to be filed in the Court of Federal Claims:

Scientists 🧪 then need to *DEFEND* research with animal models of gender affirming hormone therapy. If not for the unjust targeting of trans people, or for the fact such research benefits cis people too, then maybe for the continuation of their own damn research.

I need scientists 🧪 to *THINK*: Do you really believe *only* $8mil went to research w/ transgenic mice, one of the most common tools in modern biomedicine?

Or maybe fascists are targeting trans people everywhere they can, including research using animal models of gender affirming hormone therapy?
