On top of all the genocidal Israeli actions in Gaza, l cannot fathom their obstruction of aid trucks now that the ceasefire has been signed. Do they not care what any other country thinks? Are they retrospectively hiding stuff? Or is cruelty the whole point? It's war crime on war crime

Morning peeps! I’ve written a piece for @thespinoff.bsky.social on why I ended up taking legal action against my employer and a little bit about how it played out. The whole story needs a book to tell but this is a good start 😂 thespinoff.co.nz/society/01-1... thespinoff.co.nz/society/01-1...

Hey team - @siouxsiew.bsky.social's university spent > $1.5m defending a case that their lawyers largely conceded in court. This was a huge waste of public $$$, but despite Siouxsie's win, she remains out of pocket. Please support Siouxsie after she supported us: www.pledgeme.co.nz/projects/852...

I harp on this a lot. Apologies. In Niue everyone has a family garden and a job that seems to be 4 hours a day. No unemployment/ sickness or other benefits at all. Free medical and dental for life. Free education, water and WiFi. Everyone lives with families. No ageism. It efficient and happy
Please do have a read of some of David Graeber's words on the policy of Universal Basic Income.

It's all about distraction
The planet is alternatively flooding and burning, racism and misogyny are rife and the Crown is about to steal the seabed and foreshore all over again. And the important Parliamentary discourse? Whether men should have to tie bits of cloth around their necks at work.

My analysis: The Government’s methane announcement is the policy equivalent of a steaming cowpat on cross-partisan climate consensus and international efforts to tackle the crisis.

The headline effect of a new, weaker climate target is a warmer, more dangerous world.
