How RLM talks about Carol's lesbianism gives me a fucking migraine. Being gracious about it, they're largely contrasting it to Will Byers' homosexuality and how it's shoved down the viewers throat, but they chose to say that in Carol's case it's "not important" which is just fucking insane

It's working!
(For a real answer, it definitely is interesting, but it's not good as much as it isn't bad. It's the true definition of mid as a game, but it's so unique looking as a JRPG that it's atleast worth playing once and then going "ew, no" and then shutting it off forever)

It's working!

I liked what most liked, and found the bad parts to be bad but not as much as others made out. Some big moments fell flat, but most of the characters I liked throughout the show, I continued to like till the end. Worth a watch if you still have lingering feelings to the characters, if not, skip it.
1. Stranger Things 5 (7/10)
It was pretty good. Plotwise kind of bad, but I've never really liked Stranger Things for it's plot, I moreso enjoy the character dynamics, and there's a lot of that in this season now that most of the cast is on the same page. It is way WAY too long though.

and THAT'S IT for the year. I'm calling it there. I will not have time to beat any other 2025 games before the new year is over. I haven't watched enough movies or listened to enough music to feel comfortable giving year end lists for that, but here's the year end list for games. Really great year!

In all seriousness the highs of this show, carry any sort of pacing problems that objectively are there.
This show has given me some of my absolute favorite moments in fiction. That's not something I can take points off of just cuz a few bad droughts

I know even talking about these memes is stupid cuz it lends credence to the idea that they're factual, but I really can't overstate how much I hate these sentiments regarding smaller games. This one is different from the one I usually see but the underlying tone of the message is the same.

Despite how terrible of a shape the industry is in, the releaes were just so good.
It breaks my heart to see so many layoffs and cancelled projects. I hope next year that things get better before they get worse, as meaningless as platitudes like that might sound. I wanna see devs thrive

111. The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball (8/10)
I'm surprised this hasn't skipped a beat. The mixed media animation is even better now, and the slapstick comedy is still great. A few really dated jokes, but Gumball has always had those. Some really nice messages in these episodes.

"Explained" content is not actually made to "explain" content. It's engagement farming to both prey on people's memories of movies they've seen or people who wanna quickly be in on a conversation who don't have time to read a Wikipedia synopsis or... you know... watch the god damn movie.
This is explained in a long, unmissable scene *halfway through the movie*, not the ending, and then further discussed about a hundred fucking times before said ending. I despise this era of internet

My two cents on the whole Larian discourse is that what Sven said was kinda cringe, but also I would advice people to adopt a realist perspective instead of yelling at clouds, cuz most game studios agree with Larian and are already using GenAI for their projects. It's naive to assume otherwise.
