I’ve had the Greek restaurant and voting stickers on the back of this notebook for most of the last year, just now added more Japanese candy packaging and Kewpee 👍

You could not pay me to talk to most of the people I thought were friends in K-12.
Of the ones who remain in touch-ish is the most awkward friendship I ever had (we are taking that shit to our graves) and someone who I rarely talked to (who is a really good photographer and he liked my work lol)

My exp with vGen is that it helps lower the barrier of entry for people new to or wary of commissions, the very visible accountability and transparency puts people at ease!
As an artist, I love all the detail I can add but the difference between adding to portfolio/showcase/samples is fussy.

Discord posted an update abt their age verification - I feel the need to inform people that all of these things were already true last year when they had that data breach that exposed people's IDs. Bad actors got into a customer support account that had access to tickets with people's IDs in them.

I'm not attached to or use Discord much or at all, but I have friends who are and I'm sure there are others too who depend a lot on it too. So I took a little bit of time to write up suggestions and recommendations I gave them for certain usages that may be worth considering. I hope this helps some.

I'm not attached to or use Discord much or at all, but I have friends who are and I'm sure there are others too who depend a lot on it too. So I took a little bit of time to write up suggestions and recommendations I gave them for certain usages that may be worth considering. I hope this helps some.
People are so nostalgic for the 00s and Web 2.0 and everything - we can return right now, today, with updated security standards and certificates lol.

Anyway I hope people start making self hosted things again and using E2E chat systems and using BBS style stuff for community discussion. You don't have to do all your communication on one platform.
My brother and I used to send each other Youtube links using the (now dead) Youtube chat system lol

We have traded security for convenience often, and as someone whose livelihood depends on "being where the people are" at this time, it puts me in a bad position. Discord is my least favorite solution to a lot of problems -plenty of people have pointed out its gross vulnerabilities.

Discord is not something I used much until I started watching a lot of streams and following indie devs, and subsequently joining those communities. No one wants to sign up for "another thing" so they just make discord channels, which filled the vacuum left by BBS/forums.

After my latest string of bad luck I feel chained to both Windows and Discord and it sucks. I switched to Windows almost exclusively about 5 years ago (it feels like 500) for gaming and ease of software use. I had been running Macs my entire life up to that point but they were just too $$$.
