Watching Love is Blind is a good wake up call because it reminds you that there is a large swathe of this planet whose whole life is imagining themselves as the main character in a romantic comedy where they are searching with love with what can only be described as a functioning mental disorder

I genuinely believe Tár is one of the best films of the 21st century and think about it all the time. It was so in control of itself - like a 19th c novel, it crafted the psychology of a distinctly recognizably individual, their rise + fall, perfectly grasping “the times we live in” (cancel culture)

Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

It’s hard to describe but on top of everything, it has become insufferable to do any kind of work/profession at all. I objectively have a good job, but the way things are you’re boxed in no matter where you work or what you do - work sucks but I’m like would anywhere else be better? Probably not
