Thought the phrase "vibe coding" was funny so I finally tried some. Pretty handy for quickly building simple-functionality tools that uses popular public libraries, esp. those I know nothing of. Likely won't be able to use it for work anytime soon though :(

I've used to take notes and write diary/fiction for years with plain text + bullet points + occasional bold text. Obsidian is the best thing I ever had for this and I love the idea of syncing files on my own instead of paying extra bucks for some cloud storage of ~MB.

For any of the JAX neural network builders out here (or PyTorch users willing to try out new stuff), we've been renovating our Flax API to be simpler and closer to Python semantics.

(It even has pretty model rendering with dropdowns)

From my 2 years with cats I learnt: they easily overfit for the best.
Once they get some good experience - a well done massage, some good snack - they immediately want *only* that level and scorn anything lesser.
...Until their memory span runs out and forget about it.

I always wonder why Twitter / Bluesky / etc don't have longer word limits. This has been a bit bizarre for me as I came from the Chinese weibo world where word limit is 5k and I never had to think about it.
Is it because people assume longer text is optional read (direct to external link)?

I've started reading up on how Bluesky is built, and found this overview of the underlying protocol/design from @steveklabnik.com really well done (found it thanks to @amyhoypro.bsky.social in the 30x500 list). Highly recommended read.

Vision Transformer in pure JAX

A basic Vision Transformer entirely from scratch. His focus is to explore JAX directly and train a small model while leveraging JAX’s core features, like vmap and jit, without any external frameworks.
