Recently I watched a male and female Red-winged Blackbird (only the male is in these photos) attack a Sandhill Crane in the marsh. Typically the female only joins in when the crane is very close to the Red-winged Blackbird nest, and I was correct;

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher nests are built by both the male and female; this is the male with the big bold eyebrow. The nest is decorated with lichen and held together with spider silk.
