Our values & priorities are revealed in thousands of small but important details in our city design, deliberate decisions that have prioritized cars over people for decades. It will take equally deliberate decisions to change to cities for people. HT Dutch cartoon by Verwey, 1980

London’s LTNs changed the life of my neighbourhood in ways that’s hard to describe to North Americans. This is my road every morning as a result.

@willnorman.co.uk how do the disadvantaged apply for this Boris bike discount code?
Only 128 redemptions to date is a low number, can Bluesky help spread the word?

Look at these high cycle route counters stats, the last month compare to the same time period one year ago. Regularly topping 8000 trips a day recently dispite the season change.

Of all the parking lots I walk across, 80% of them are never - NEVER - more than 2/3 full. Just unbelievably bad land use. Makes the city hotter, uglier and more flood-prone, reduces land available for trees or housing (or both), and creates a safety hazard for non-drivers.
If only we were prepared to tackle catastrophic climate change the way we are in the off chance everyone on the planet drives their car to the mall on the same day.
