‪@rouhiroo.bsky.social‬: Indeed, monitoring and/or assessing in ways more sensitive to context and to the social contributions of research requires more time and expertise... so it is more resource intensive. But the (hidden) costs of science NOT addressing societal issues... aren't they gigantic?
@ismaelrafols.bsky.social we don't have ready made solutions for this new kind of assessment. SR note: it's highly qualitiative and resource intensive. What is our commitment to level of work?

@ismaelrafols.bsky.social we're seeing a change in how we understand #OPenScience to move beyond just access to outputs. It has to be about open CONNECTIONS leading to new outcomes. Monitoring outputs is important but narratives around connections/processes will be vital.
