I joke that it took me twenty years to figure out how to get this off my chest about Herman Melville, starting from my first encounter as an undergrad in 2005. But it kind of did. So thrilled that this essay has a home at J19: Project MUSE - Melville's Idea of a Wife muse.jhu.edu/article/970112

I’ve been terrified of the Veiled Prophet since I learned about that whole scenario prob 10 years ago. But also this looks great!

the whole essay is full of KO’s: “What these pundits are nudging us to do, ever so politely, is accept that women, in the main, are accustomed to being a little degraded, a little underpaid and ignored and dampened in their ambitions, in ways that men are not and never will be.”

There’s absolutely no reason this isn’t currently the Rockets logo. The 25-26 Rockets uniforms look like the jersey a famous player would wear in an insurance commercial that didn’t clear the rights. Or the opposing team in Teen Wolf 3. RETVRN, Rockets! 12/x

As the statement notes, learning management systems are a form of instructional infrastructure, and we know that the infrastructure and the environments in which we teach have directed impacts on learning. Every day, these virtual infrastructures slip further away from our instructional control. +

had to rush out of one thing on campus bc I wasn't prepped for class, except then I realized I locked my keys in my office once I got back to it, and this realization was accompanied by me spilling an entire cup of coffee on myself and the wall. It's going great.
