#introduction time! Hello! I'm Graham, and I think too hard about things! 😂

I'm making an indie game called Brick & Bramble (ipsquiggle.itch.io/brick-and-br...), and before that I was a lead/designer/developer on Oxygen Not Included and Don't Starve. 🌱

I love to share my process always, so AMA! 📝

Yesss Winter Burrow is out, just in time for winter! I've been following this one for a while and am extremely excited to give it a try.

My partner saw it over my shoulder and insisted I buy her a copy too, "It's time I played a game again I think." 😂

Winter Burrow is a cozy woodland survival game about a mouse returning home to restore their childhood burrow. Explore, gather resources, craft, knit warm sweaters, bake pies and meet the locals.

There's this bit in the Ghostbusters song where the singer says, "There's an invisible man, sleeping in your bed," and the background singers go "Oh no" in this weirdly sarcastic way, and it cracks me up for some reason.

"There are no right answers, only mutually satisfsctory solutions."

This is burning in my brain right now. Totally changes the question from morality or virtues, into something pragmatic and achievable. Verrrrry interesting.

Ugh, I keep coming across this "DeepWiki" site, which is an AI-generated programming documentation site which is extremely elaborate and extremely useless. But wow is their SEO good 🙄

"Make the useful things easy and the distracting things difficult." I forget where I heard this advice.. but it got me thinking:

What if, tomorrow morning when you sat down, instead of spending some effort making your life a little better, you spent effort making it worse?

I'm always looking out for independent news to subscribe to... Came across the Tyee today, are they good? Worth giving my Canadian dollars to? Pros and cons?

When we moved into this house 5 years ago, utensils just ended up in random drawers during unpacking.

My partner has decided it's time to put them where it makes sense but I keep putting them back in the old places.

I feel like we need a Ceremony Of The Spatula where they get officially moved. 🤔

i've been lurking the fft reddit because i really like seeing folks discussing the story. there are new players playing who feel a lot of discomfort at the ending, and desired for more justice or happier outcomes for the characters, and i like seeing folks debate the merits of that

This book is incredible. It's truly unique, but I think if you like fantasy worlds that feel real and like they've been around a long time, and mystery and characters who are heartbroken charming fuck ups you will love this.

My Saturday morning: Slept in, read some webcomics, and now I'm updating my expired credit card everywhere and reviewing a year's worth of Strata Council notes that I've been ignoring.

What are you up to this fine weekend?

By now we all have an idea of what a virus looks like.

You know those little bits that stick out? Those are wrenches.

Tiny, molecule sized wrenches.

Billions and billions of tiny wrenches, that they throw into all your plans...

I think about this page from Hilda when I think about cozy games. Can't warm yourself under a blanket unless it's cold out; can't enjoy the light of a fire unless the room is dark.

I love a pastel, huggy wholesome game as much as the next person (really!) but cozy games need darkness too! #indieDev

Which is the bigger crime?
Putting a bagel in the toaster but forgetting to hit the bagel button, or putting bread in the toaster but accidentally hitting the bagel button?

Finished @arechanga.bsky.social 's webcomic Señorita Cometa, dang I loved it so much!

The cast is super lovable, the mystery is fun, the action and the art is so stylish, this one has been so worth the weekly wait for new episodes, I'm going to miss reading it 😭

I don't really enjoy ghost stories... I never read spooky books as a kid, I'm not into horror...

But dang if it isn't delightful to stay up past your bedtime in a quiet house and devour the final chapters of a ghost story!

When I was a kid I learned that Canada has about 30 million people living here.

I've held onto that number basically since then.

I just noticed we are over 40 million now, I need to recalibrate everything!
