Millyyyyyyy may he play forever
JAMES MILNER IS ON FOR A RECORD-EQUALLING 653RD PREMIER LEAGUE APPEARANCE 🚨

Nobody has played in more games. Milner's PL debut, on November 10 2002, is closer in time to the Miracle on Ice than it is today. Incredible longevity 🤯

oh, how sad. :(
James Van Der Beek was part of one of the most influential shows of a certain era, a show that loomed large to a certain generation of critics. Beyond that, he was talented, willing to poke fun at himself & seemed like a good man. Extremely sad news. Way, way too young. 💚 people.com/james-van-de...

checking in with myself about if we can write today and the answer is still NO NO NO. I have exhausted all of the free/no-login-required crossword puzzles until tomorrow. got an email from the job I interviewed with saying they'll be reaching out later today or tomorrow? that seems good?

I have a loaner car, no idea when mine will be done, the problem is with one of the parts they replaced back in November so at least Ford is paying for all of it, but Ford paying for it means it takes forever. I'm trying to be more zen this time because at least the guy isn't lying about it.

weeks of no movies and this weekend FOUR open that at least sound interesting. (Wuthering Heights, GOAT, Crime 101, Good Luck Have Fun Don't Die)

Okay I need to go to sleep but - if anyone sees anything indicating that Landeskog took his little blond elf children to the Games with him please send it my way, I need to know. This would probably only be reported in Swedish media????

Maybe my new fandom is the lady who was briefly Stalin's personal librarian and convinced him to get a stamp for his books and then realized that being a political figure's personal librarian was a REALLY bad idea and transferred elsewhere just before a purge of people in those personal roles.
February 11, 2026 at 3:05 AM
Reading a book called Stalin's Library and the author is coming from a perspective of taking him seriously as an intellectual and an idealist without going full tankie. I don't think I've read anything with that approach before, it's interesting.

one of my mom's ancestors didn't like her name so she re-named herself after a boat. saw it in the harbor, liked the name, went by that from then on.
Baffled by transphobes insisting that the name on your birth certificate is Your True Name Forever when it was common in my grandparents' generation to just...pick a name you like and use that, nbd. I literally found out both of my grandma's birth certificate first names FROM THEIR OBITUARIES.

youtube is refusing to load in Chrome. I told Adblock to apply no filters to it and it still won't load. this is it, isn't it. this is the end.

surprising no one, I can't get ahold of anyone at the dealership to tell me if my car will be done today or not.

opened a bunch of files in sequence and asked myself "do I want to work on this?" and the answer was all nos so I closed them and did crossword puzzles.

I think this is the right way to do it? maybe?

I wish I could show you guys some of the Teams conversations I have with my boss. they are genuinely insane.
February 10, 2026 at 6:01 PM
"Team Canada's Olympic men's hockey team to reportedly leave athletes' village in favour of a hotel: 'We want to win gold'" which one of them was fuckin' outside the team, place your bets.
February 10, 2026 at 4:13 PM
"I manage a team of 8-12 people at any one time in an entry-level role. Every year, we have a Christmas party at a local hotel and bar. It’s always an open bar — recipe for disaster, but the staff love it." rest of the letter: details an open-bar disaster.

ah, Ask A Manager.

Home and unpacked and have a purring kitty. Unfortunately the Coach wallet seems to have been lost along the way. 😔 It probably fell out of my bag somewhere, I don't think the TSA people stole it? I mean I guess they could have but probably it fell. Major bummer but that's life I guess.

Lol the idiot failson is on duty at the hotel desk again tonight so I may never get a shuttle back to get my car. We just yelled at each other on the phone for a while because he wanted my flight name (?) before he could send the thing.
February 10, 2026 at 12:23 AM
On my last flight home, very tired and not at all ready to go back to work tomorrow, oh no. Hopefully can nap through part of this.
