I have a loaner car, no idea when mine will be done, the problem is with one of the parts they replaced back in November so at least Ford is paying for all of it, but Ford paying for it means it takes forever. I'm trying to be more zen this time because at least the guy isn't lying about it.

Maybe my new fandom is the lady who was briefly Stalin's personal librarian and convinced him to get a stamp for his books and then realized that being a political figure's personal librarian was a REALLY bad idea and transferred elsewhere just before a purge of people in those personal roles.

Reading a book called Stalin's Library and the author is coming from a perspective of taking him seriously as an intellectual and an idealist without going full tankie. I don't think I've read anything with that approach before, it's interesting.

one of my mom's ancestors didn't like her name so she re-named herself after a boat. saw it in the harbor, liked the name, went by that from then on.
Baffled by transphobes insisting that the name on your birth certificate is Your True Name Forever when it was common in my grandparents' generation to just...pick a name you like and use that, nbd. I literally found out both of my grandma's birth certificate first names FROM THEIR OBITUARIES.

Home and unpacked and have a purring kitty. Unfortunately the Coach wallet seems to have been lost along the way. 😔 It probably fell out of my bag somewhere, I don't think the TSA people stole it? I mean I guess they could have but probably it fell. Major bummer but that's life I guess.
