The words, out of his mouth, felt like a hairline crack in the dam of unfeeling around his heart. He instinctively tried to pull out from Jayce’s grip, but Jayce’s hold on him was desperate now. Viktor felt like he was suffocating, those kind, big hands around his waist and his arm, fear and heat coursing through them. Viktor felt like a trapped animal, falling backwards into the womb, dangerous safety tempting to consume him. Viktor’s body ached to close the gap between them and chase that falsehood until his feet were raw." AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:
