At #Disinfo2025 learning that the Kremlin isn’t deconflicting its influence ops—so now it’s just Telegram bots arguing with each other in circles 🤣.

Would love to see their OpenAI bill 👀
Great investigation by @jeanleroux.bsky.social and @learonzaud.bsky.social with some great #osint techniques!

Then Google Photos shows me pics of my ex from 2019.
I have a new man, Google. Try to keep up.

Populists didn’t hack democracy; they exploited its blind spots. If we, as defenders of democracy want to assure its survival, we need to ask how those blind spots got so big.

Hint: It’s not just the algorithms.

Deepfakes are crazy good these days.

I just saw a video of Zuckerberg claiming:
- he's "getting rid of fact-checkers" because they "censor" debate
- he's "restoring free speech" on Facebook/Instagram
- that "Europe is institutionalising censorship"

Oh, wait...

#InfluenceOperations are going mainstream, and Hollywood is once again ahead in deploying intelligence TTPs (think Weinstein, Black Cube).

#FIMI researchers can be 🔑 helping victims and journalists gathering forensics to map out the extent of orchestrating. Influence 4️⃣ hire is here.

🇷🇴 & 🇪🇺 Blaming #TikTok exclusively for #disinformation is tempting but dangerous. Brussels should not oversimplify a systemic problem. Platforms are permeable by design—TikTok, Meta, X, and others are all vulnerable. A singular focus delays real, evidence-based action.

Just gave a #Ted on ‘Can ISIS teach us how to win the Disinformation War?’

Spoiler: It is not a war.

Treating social issues like wars – think the War on Drugs / War on Terrorism – is not what worked. We need empathy, not battles. #TEDTalk #Disinformation #Digitaltolerance

Yes but a fanatic, obsessed person with an intention to harm will be stopped at the fact they have to use @archive.org 😂 or LinkedIn, or a Boolean Google search.
Sucks that healthcare companies are removing webpages about their executives.

If only there was some sort of online "machine" that could go "wayback" in time and see those pages.

Morning thought: AI is set to supercharge hack & leak ops. Nothing to hide? 10k emails hacked at lunch, 50k docs analyzed by 2pm: your CEO ignored environmental laws in 2007, expensed family vacations in 2009. #FIMI and influence ops are getting faster, sharper—and far more dangerous.

I think LLM responses are missing a side bar with non genAI sources. Do you have a question on mental health? Here are some resources on mental health. Elections? This is the website of the local election authority.
I honestly believe all LLM results should come with a disclaimer reminding people that the thing doesn’t (and absolutely cannot) know any facts or do any reasoning; it is simply designed to *sound* like it knows facts and frequently sweeps some up accidentally in the process.
I really think many if not most of the LLM fail cases are people trying to use it as a search engine. It is the opposite of a search engine.
