Let me put it bluntly and just say that it’s convenient how “Haitian pet-eating” claims just disappeared as soon as another Black immigrant community could be more easily turned into a lightning rod for the hate and fear of ignorant and bigoted right-wing Americans.

This is why I’m pushing for a state escrow account that holds federal funds before sending them on to Washington. If Trump wants to steal our tax dollars that were legally appropriated by Congress, then we should just be paying ourselves.
