It was really encouraging to see so many people opt-in to the economic blackout yesterday. Most of us are feeling the burden of the current economy and the state of our government at all levels, and it's great to move together as a part of something bigger. But what's next?

watching the tiktok ban almost feels like speedrunning the early pandemic. people in denial til the last minute, panicking and banding together right as shit hit the fan, a lockdown period, then people fully acting like the ban went away while a few town criers beg people to remember it's not over.

it is my duty to remind ppl every so often that in 2022, covid gave me a dog allergy that is rapidly getting worse. i always had dogs growing up, now i take 5 medications just to visit my sister and her dog, and i STILL feel miserable.

i'm glad this is a topic you're thinking about, because scishow was effective in my deprogramming and i'm sure i'm not the only one. i'd love to see what could be accomplished with a more intentional focus directly addressing the minds that need changing the most.

if you open tiktok on your browser, click on your profile, then click "following", you can highlight the entire list and paste it into a spreasheet. Throw a filter on the column, select "following" and "friends", then delete all those rows. You now have clickable links to every tiktok you follow.

possibly my hottest take is that i like fb, i've always liked fb, and watching meta flush itself down the toilet over the years is actually devastating. fb has been the best way for me to stay connected with IRL communities since high school and there's nothing poised to fill that function next.
