I reviewed Rupert Russell's excellent folk horror / true crime doc #TheLastSacrifice at the Glasgow Frightfest earlier this year, and now it's being screened across the UK to coincide with Halloween - with some Q&As with the director! see dates and venues below

@arrowvideo.bsky.social's new release of #ThreeExtremes and #Three is incredible - here's my review for @filmhounds.co.uk filmhounds.co.uk/2025/10/thre...

FWIW I would give Three...Extremes 5/5 and Three 3/5, hence the 4/5 rating.
Three and Three... Extremes (Blu-ray Review)
Three and Three... Extremes - two Asian horror anthology films - arrive in high definition in this new set from Arrow.

So I saw #TheLongWalk yesterday, and while it definitely has it's issues, my main take away was "hey, they don't need to adapt that book again!" which I guess means overall I liked it.

My five star review of #OneBattleAfterAnother for Critical Popcorn:

Paul Thomas Anderson's most thrilling film, blending the wryly subversive tone of Inherent Vice with the nonstop momentum of Uncut Gems, and Leonardo DiCaprio at his frantic best.

I’m sure this has been noted already, but if you count the
@taskmaster.tv uk contestants from left to right across all seasons (with Frank Skinner being contestant no.1 and Sanjeev Bhaskar contestant no.100) Reece Shearsmith is now contestant no.99. Just a nice little bit of serendipity #insideno9

The first time in my entire watching of #OnlyConnect that I've spotted a reused question from an earlier season. I got that Moby Dick question from the first clue years and years ago - its still one of my proudest quiz show moments. I got it right again tonight lol but it's a little dispiriting.

One of my favourite films, Badlands, is on at the BFI tonight. I won’t go see it this time, but I watch it on the big screen every few years. It’s based on the real-life murder spree of two teenagers in the US in the 1950s.

Rasa and Ray Davies.

Rasa's high, soaring harmonies give songs like "Death of a Clown" its rowdy elegance.

But it's her harmonies on "Waterloo Sunset" that give the song an ethereal grace that is at once thrilling and luminous.

A tune I can play and be transfixed, year after year.

I've been very remiss in my self publicizing lately - I've written loads in the past month but this is one I'm kinda proud of, my review of the @criterion.bsky.social release of #AHardDay'sNight for Critical Popcorn:
