Last week I went to a local video game store in Albuquerque called New Game Plus. You could play video games in-store, from retro to modern games. The store is even complete with a fully furnished ’90s-style basement game room with tube TV’s and with funky couches.

the city needs more trash cans. it's one of the first things i noticed when moving here, taking my dog for a walk often meant carrying the little baggy around for a while because there are no trash cans anywhere
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico & I always take a couple of trash bags with me on my walks. I feel the same way you do, because one would think the mayor would have city employees maintaining all walking paths. I don't mind doing my part but it's certainly never ending.

And it's a final short thread @wingsndnsilver.bsky.social with tonight's local urgent needs, a new GFM for a local child's medical expenses, and a wishlist for a local infant:
Now, tonight's urgent needs.

First is a new GFM, and it's close to my heart because this little girl has some of the same things I have [lupus, et al], but with much worse complications. The family are having to travel between here, Colorado, and ABQ for her treatment.

I just got off the bus with my kids and it was not like this at all
Yes, unfortunately, while I support making the buses free, a recent visit to Albuquerque, which has free buses, illustrated the possible dangers to that policy if it is not very carefully implemented. The buses were basically mobile homeless shelters.

why are all these dispensaries owned by repubs?
Duke Rodriguez, CEO of Ultra Health, a cannabis company in NM, just made it official, he’s running for governor in 2026 on the Republican ticket.

For the first time in NM history, we could see two pro-cannabis candidates in the same race.
