Accountant by day, stoner and awful sports takes by night. Illini/Arsenal/Packers/Cardinals fan, so I’m used to being disappointed.

“Reported decrease”??

Ellis says she doesn't know if the court needs to keep up the "sprint" it has on this case over the last few weeks, citing the reported decrease in immigration agents in Chicago until March.

Test case for next November to see if SCOTUS will overturn the voter’s will.

But also, they should be careful what they wish for. Not that the Roberts Court has any defined principles beyond “Yes, Master Trump”, but a lot of their complaint describes red states’ gerrymandering:
Justice Department sues to block California US House map in clash that could tip control of Congress
The Justice Department has sued to block new congressional district boundaries approved by California voters, joining a legal battle that could determine which party wins control of the U.S.

How Premier League teams are borrowing NFL plays for set piece success
Set piece mania has taken over the Premier League but it seems that teams are taking plays from the NFL. Here's what they have learned.

Not only that, but if he had acted when Zuckerberg stole “The Facebook” from the Winklevoss twins, we might not be in this mess of social media moguls destroying our country to protect their pedophile behavior.
In 2005, Summers said women aren't as mentally equipped to be scientists as men (link below). Harvard didn't fire his ass then.

Now in this 2017 email, he's making an insufferable, faux-clever "joke" about women's supposedly inferior IQ.

He's been garbage for decades.

Harvard President Summers' Remarks About Women in Science, Engineering
Harvard President Lawrence Summers faced intense criticism for remarks he made about the shortage of women in the sciences and engineering at a Jan. 14 closed-door conference.

Yes, science is constantly being reviewed, criticized, evaluated, updated, etc.

But not because “I disagree with this”. You can disagree with the Sun rising in the East every morning, but the scientific fact is not going to change.
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Absolute disgraceful call. Know the damn situation, refs. They had two fouls to give.
Kylan Boswell flagrant-1 foul called with Texas Tech down 5 with 12.5 seconds left.

Illinois had a foul to give but Texas Tech now get two free throws and the ball after this play and a chance to tie the game.

Toppin may well be NPOY, but his teammates are definitely not. Illinois has the higher overall talent level and a deeper bench.
JT Toppin for Texas Tech has been unguardable in this game. He has 35-points so far.

Conservatives are still so mad about being asked to mask up and stay home during the pandemic that they are sending masked agents into every city so everyone will stay home.
Rep. Pat Harrigan: "I have asked Josh Stein, our governor, to consider working with President Trump to allow the National Guard to come into Charlotte ... use the National Guard as a force multiplier and they can a lot of load off the Charlotte PD."

The Packers really want to be known for a Tush Push-style play, but I’m not sure the “OL checks in as eligible, then immediately gets covered for a penalty” play is the best choice.

Getting ready to jump on the #LaFleurOut bandwagon.

Even more than the Tush Push false starts, the Eagles get away with blocks in the back on Every. Single. Damn. Punt. Return.

“They did not want to work with them. They got the Democrats to own the shutdown, and then laughed hysterically all night long.”
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

This 🧵 about the conditions at Broadview should be shared everywhere, and it should anger everyone.

How did we let this happen?
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Oh good, a clarification! They obviously realized their numbers were inaccurate and they wanted to clear it up as soon as possible.

Now, every American is slated to lose…nearly 400 pounds in less than a year! Hell yeah!
Oz: We thought it was 125 million pounds. Our estimate is Americans will lose 135 billion pounds by the midterms
November 6, 2025 at 6:28 PM
On one hand, this estimation is obviously complete made up and inflated to make it sound great.

But also, do the math. That’s less than one pound per American.
RFK Jr: "The American public because of this agreement will lose 125 million pounds by this time next year."

One of those “doing the right things for the absolute worst reasons” situations.

1. He is hoping to soften the Republican image before the midterms (“Look how much we saved you on weight loss drugs!”)

But also 2. Trump doesn’t want fatties near him.

Oh look! The Stupid Avengers are back to bring more stupid to everyone!

The party who complained about grocery prices being so high under Biden now admits that grocery prices are always supposed to go up, now that it’s their Dear Leader being held accountable.
Q: Food prices are still going up. Grocery prices are still going up. How do you respond?

MIKE JOHNSON: All of the economist have shown that food prices always go up. There's an inflationary level that's built in to grocery prices.
November 6, 2025 at 4:53 PM
I’m all for the Stupid Avengers being so stupid that they stupid themselves right out of office.
Mike Johnson: "The economy and healthcare are two of the primary issues in the country clearly, and that's why we are delighted to run on our record."

Not breaking any new ground here, but someone who thinks elections restore/erode sovereignty is complete unfit not only for President, but to be a member of our society.
Trump: On November 5th 2024, the American people reclaimed our government, restored our sovereignty. We lost a little bit of sovereignty last night in New York, but we will take care of it, don't worry about it.

Incredible job of burying the lede here.

Using employee biometric data to train what is essentially a paid AI sex doll is creepy enough. But the real story is that Elon forced them to sign a “release” under threat of getting fired.

I’m no lawyer, but that sounds like a serious lawsuit.

What a great Election Night. But the work is just beginning. One year to the most consequential midterms of our lives, and Trump is not going to roll over.
