Does anyone else’s cat make them a better birder?

My indoor window-watching fur ball spots interesting scenes on the reg.

From baby cardinals in trees, to birds enjoying the bird bath, and even bunnies munching on my echinacea plants. She spots it first from the windowsill!

Amazing!! ☀️ way to go California! Would love to see the east coast meet or exceed this pace. #solar
"At this pace, CA will be 100% [clean energy] 24/7/365 by 2035."

And we're barely even trying! Imagine what California (or anywhere) could do if all leaders actually called out the danger of fossil fuels, ended subsidies, and made the biggest polluters actually pay for the damage they've done.
179th day of the year that the California ISO grid WindWaterSolar supply exceeds 100% of demand for part of the day.

CA is meeting 55.9% of all demand this year with WWS, vs 51.7% in 2024 and 47.1% in 2023. At this pace, CA will be 100% WWS 24/7/365 by 2035.

Gas is down 20% vs '24 & 38% vs '23

Turn off any extra lights at night! Help birds along their migration routes. #birdsky
YOU can be a bird hero: dim or turn off unnecessary lighting from 11pm-6am every night & treat the outside of your windows with repeating patterns spaced no more than 2x2 inches apart so birds see glass as a barrier. Halley’s comet swings near Earth every 75 years. But debris left by the comet leads to two major meteor showers every year including the Eta Aquarids.

Viewing lasts until May 28. Here’s what to know about the Eta Aquarids and other meteor showers.
How to catch the Eta Aquarid meteor shower, debris of Halley's comet
The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is peaking. Experts say expect to see 10 to 15 meteors per hour in ideal viewing conditions early Tuesday.
