Clinical trials look at new ways to prevent, detect, or treat disease to advance kidney cancer care. Participating in a clinical trial can be a way to access a new or otherwise unavailable treatment. (1/2)

A new approach to diagnosing #kidneycancer, called the Cambridge kidney One-Stop Mass Investigation Clinic, was trialled at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge halving the time from biopsy to treatment decision.

The survey also found patients younger than 46 years reported more barriers to treatment than patients over 46. The most common barrier for younger patients is cost of treatment. (2/3)

When asked about barriers to treatment, 55% of Global Patient Survey respondents said they experienced a barrier that affected their treatment. The most common barriers cited were cost of treatment (23%) and waiting times for treatment (22%). (1/3)
