If you stop assistance for the poor in order that you may be blessed by your gifts to the poor, you have taken the poor from a stable position on which they can count, to anxiety over whether enough people today will feel a need to be blessed by giving. Such a thing defiles the gift. — Rev S Clark

Racism is when you believe a white guy is innocent after a jury has concluded 34 times that he isn’t, and you immediately decide an immigrant is guilty when the immigrant hasn’t even had a chance to present their defense.

As one who kills a son before his father’s eyes is the person who brings an offerering from the goods of the poor. The bread of the needy is their life; whoever deprives them of it is a murderer. He who takes away a neighbour’s living slays him; to deprive an labourer of wages sheds blood — Sirach

The rich seize common goods before others have the chance, then claim them as if by right of preemption. If we all took only what was necessary to sate our own needs, giving the rest to those who lack, no one would be rich, no one would be poor, and no one would be in need. — St. Basil the Great

I need to find the lost needle to finish the project I am weaving in ends on so I can start something new. I can't start something new until it is done or it will go the way of knitting projects that have lots of ends to weave in. Next up is embroidery I think. Need a new distraction

I don't think @lisamurkowski.bsky.social understands who elected her in 2022. It was not those who support these nominees like RFK Jr. The primary that kept her position was 45% who did not want Tshibaka. The 38.6% who voted for Tshibaka want the people Murkowski is supporting now. 1/

So today we are supposed to be upset about *checks notes* storing archival permanent records in a perfect naturally non-acidic, temperature and humidity controlled, fireproof and non-hackable environment? Frustrating those records are not instantly able to be digitally copied I suppose...

The "feedback" from the "people" in our democratic processes *was* through things like the IGs and oversight committee of our *elected representatives*🤦♀️ Irony doesn't begin to be a strong enough word

Meaning of justice: the common modern definition of justice is making strong laws & locking people up if they don't follow them; the Biblical meaning is making sure that all people in a society have access to food, shelter, a living wage, & the opportunity to live with dignity. — Stephen H. Wright
