Feels cliche to say avid reader but god i love books. And yes, Audiobooks are books. That counts as reading.

Ossoff: We were told that MAGA was for working-class Americans. But this is a government of, by, and for the ultra-rich. It’s the wealthiest Cabinet ever. This is the Epstein class. They are the elites they pretend to hate.

This is a fake Trump post, and the account that posted it here has been told repeatedly that it's a fake Trump post but still has it up.

That's an easy block.

Hey man. You work at a newspaper. Have some self respect and try to write at least one sentence that doesn’t feel like sandpaper on my eyeballs.
Breaking — Will Lewis out at the Washington Post. He just sent this email to staff (shared with me by staffer):

WaPo editorial board when TX imposes a legislative gerrymander: don't freak out guys! Not a threat to democracy!

When VA responds to TX with *referendum* on their own gerrymander: brass-knuckled hypocrisy, anti-democratic gamesmanship.

There is hypocrisy here, all right, but not from VA.

Well that resignation letter is the icing on the cake. Have some self-respect. Geez.
Days after Washington Post laid off 300 journalists, publisher Will Lewis -- conspicuously absent during the notifications to those whose jobs were cut -- is stepping down. Attached is Lewis' memo to staff, courtesy of my NPR colleague David Folkenflik. READ: https://loom.ly/vZyjS90

Consequently my priority metric for books is now tending towards “size”.

Literally the only thing you should be concerned about between those two is which one is more likely to win. They're both great choices.

The very simple thing here is that the white man in question polls way way better against his republican opponent
When you have the choice between a capable white man & an equally capable black woman, I’d vote for the woman. Why? Because she’d probably work harder to stay where she got to. It’s a more difficult climb.

I donated $25 a month to Crockett’s House campaign & was a regular donor to Allred for Senate. This D Senate Primary is not about race. Talerico supporters (of which I am one) support him for his record & ability to work across the aisle;
& his request we keep this primary cycle positive.

Is there really a need for insults to promote the candidate you think is best? Leave that for Republicans. I love Crockett but like his approach to many issues better. It’s not always about race.

He didn’t say that about Allred. There’s no video.

Just talked to three different people who were insiders and they all think that Crockett and her crew manufactured that claim
Yes I saw what he said about Allred and was not pleased. Jasmine Crockett is the real deal…so smart and not afraid.

If someone in a crowd where you were yelled out “pedophile protector,” would you automatically assume they were talking to you? Because I sure wouldn’t. I’d be looking around for who they meant.

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

Similarly, it's depressing how many people (liberals mostly with Gaza and certain leftists with Ukraine) pretend to not realize occupation is not a meaningful peace.
The minute details are obviously significantly different but a core similarity between UKR and Palestine is that neither can actually reach a political solution because in each case their corresponding belligerent has an outwardly eliminiationist goal and has shown that it won't deviate from it.

NEW: A baby held in immigration detention became so sick, she had to be rushed to a hospital in severe respiratory distress.

“She was at the brink of dying,” a lawyer told me.

But the girl didn’t go home after her 10-day hospital stay; instead, ICE put her and her mother back in lock up at Dilley.
Toddler hospitalized with respiratory failure was returned to ICE detention without prescribed medication, lawsuit says
The 18-month-old was sent back to a South Texas facility after days in intensive care with severe respiratory distress, according to a federal lawsuit.
