Eurasian Tree Sparrow. I love how striking these guys are - sometimes you really have to stop and appreciate the beauty of a little brown bird! 🎨🪶🐡

Watching people who used to be incredibly skilled researching different topics and articulating their perspectives unable to do so without relying on AI is devastating. It’s damaging the environment but also damaging human connection.

Bird nesting in the Cretaceous! This is the illustration I did for a new paper by Lauren Wilson and colleagues that is published TODAY in Science

The new paper describes an assemblage of fossils that includes both chicks and adults from multiple species of Late Cretaceous birds!

i hate how popular chatgpt has gotten. how are people comfortable saying they ask for advice from a bot that is trained to be agreeable?

of course the bot said you’re right, they’re not searching up information to disagree with you

they won’t get you hooked on the paid plan that way

Got an itch to do more linocut block printing! What's more glorious than an osprey catching fish?

This print comes in black or blue, and is a limited run of 100. The printed area is 8X10 on 9X12 inch rice paper. If interested, you can get one here!

Here's the Victoria Crowned Pigeon, a stunning species native to New Guinea. Although tame, it is sadly now becoming very elusive in the wild due to hunting :(

Any suggestions on what I should do next? :P Maybe some obscure endangered species?

Throwback Thursday to my very first Life List painting of an Eastern Meadowlark. I started this project during 2020 COVID lockdowns and am still going 5 years later!

My goal is to paint every wild bird I've seen. Currently working on 141/421!
