I made a list of folks who work in ocean science and conservation, post stuff that’s interesting to non-experts in those fields (like my students,) and post regularly.

Give them a follow to get more ocean on your feed.

I am always adding to this list. But please don’t ask me to add you.

How can we link archaeological artifacts to evolutionary processes? In our last paper, we show how navigating the epistemological issues and pitfalls of phylogenetic reconstruction reveals universal principles of evolution—variation, transmission, and selection. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Folks, exactly 5 years ago today I made this offer, & I'll do it again.

Many graduate students are in danger of losing their one field season for collecting data- in March 2020 because of the pandemic, now because of Musk-Trump BS. This means that many won't be able to finish graduate school. 🧪🧵

I want to highlight just how closely the Wurman-Barnett arguments in 2025 parallel those made by the United States against Wong Kim Ark’s citizenship in 1898. And rejected. I do not think this can be coincidence.

Here’s a summary of the US’s arguments, via @jnovkov.bsky.social
