Quick reminder that anti-porn laws aren't just made to ban literal pornography; they're made to ban specific views and speech - notably from marginalized voices, as their existence will always be classified as "pornographic," or an excuse will be made to deem it so.
A Tennessee Board of Education has now banned Wicked, Beloved and 35 other books as "pornography."
Under a new TN law, any description of sexual activity is "harmful to minors." Another 150 books have already been flagged for removal.

It's kind of amazing that we showed we could cut child poverty in half for roughly 100 billion/year (absolute peanuts in a 7 trillion dollar budget), did it for a year, and then just stopped doing it.
The food security report is out, and it's bad news: 13.5% of households were food insecure in 2023, up from 12.8% in 2022. This is what happens when you abruptly end "pandemic" supports that should have been there all along.
