i do find it interesting in a bleak way that silicon valley is basically recapitulating 1920s-style american reactionary politics.
The tech bro fascination with eugenics is so on brand. The idea that you could make accurate, actionable predictions from individual genotypes (with all their complex, non-linear interactions) from averaged, linearly modeled population-level genomic statistics is just another big data fantasy

The whole twitter eugenics and euthanasia conversation is so flawed. The onus is on the general public to listen to disabled people, activists and learn disabled history. Not every conversation is about you even as a caretaker

can't stress enough, as someone who has a lot of experience in media, they know what they are doing when they run provocative and/or genuinely dumb takes. they do not deserve your well-intentioned "marketplace of ideas" counterarguments even a little bit!

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
