The LAST thing I want is some AI company reading on my personal conversations, training on my art, stealing my photos, or talking on behalf of humans.

Even if I were to disregard the impact AI has on unemployment, art theft, misinformation, environmental and economical impacts, among other things, it'd still be a huge, massive, enormous mistake to allow untrustworthy for-profit companies to train, unsupervised, on the personal conversations, image exchanges, creative works and general behavior of millions and millions of users, many of which are underage! Even if this was profitable for Discord as a company, even if this was locked behind paywalls or server settings or disabled by default, even if this was restricted to only "a few" features of the platform, the added risk involved with this sort of third party overreach – which is already encroaching us on every facet of the online ecosystem – would far, far supersede the potential benefits. It would only take a small handful of bad actors, or an extra greedy CEO, or a poorly aligned model, to create an enormous problem both for users of the platform AND the platform's credibility itself. We already have to deal with it on a daily basis on most major platforms, and if some users STILL want it, they can already use it either through plugins, external programs or bots. Please don't force this upon the many millions of users who either actively don't want it or don't know any better.

Secondary issue that warded me from YouTube channels: treating the audience like ignorant inattentive blobs.

Like saying "since half of you aren't paying attention I'll just summarize it" or "I'll add some Subway Surfers in this section". STATING you have no faith in your audience is... a choice??

I wish YouTubers would understand that STARTING the video with "before we dive into it, don't forget to like and subscribe" is the FASTEST way to get me to leave.

"80% of viewers are not subscribed"? Maybe they would if you put all this effort into the subject matter of the video, just a thought 🥴
