In this past decade of mass death, there were timid steps in the right direction - at first. But the most coherent, passionate response from the state (and its various apparatus) has been to smash DULF, hire more cops & roll back what little harm reduction we had won.

At @hracollective.bsky.social's #SupportDontPunish event, @chrisnayler.bsky.social shared how "the drugs gave me 3 extra years with my son" - they alleviated his symptoms. But without a safe supply, Ryan lost his life. It's not complicated, but it is political cowardice.

this isn't new information, the trend was obvious and communicated in 2018 in B.C., this mode of consumption normal practice. governments and their experts talk about injection sites and heroin and implement pilot projects five years too late
