controversial opinion, but after a second person in my life has been diagnosed in as many weeks, i think maybe cancer is bad

they decided to make the back of buzz's head look vaguely phallic here as a continuation of pixar's rampant gay agenda established in lightyear (2022)

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

doing a photoshoot of jonathan bailey for sexiest man alive and only including one photo where he's smiling is negligence of duty, and it's time for a coup to reclaim people magazine as the people's people.

said goodbye to someone and we both went for a half hug and cheek kiss but went the opposite directions so ended up just awkwardly pressing faces together, going to think about it til I die

i know some people are bad at categorising films by genre, but i just got a message from someone asking if i'd heard of a "romcom" their friend recommended, and i'm side-eyeing whoever described a cringe comedy about a 14 year-old who has a(n unrequited) crush on a 25 year-old as a romcom.

i think more holidays should be co-opted into being an excuse for people to dip their toe into doing drag or being a furry

good turnout! got to speak to a number of people about how it mirrored their personal experiences, and to those whose eyes were opened to something they knew nothing about. getting to discuss movies and the way they tap into such personal feelings really is one of the best parts of the job.

been sick all week and no signs of improvement. wasn't able to get an appointment with my regular gp so went to a walk in clinic. told him my concerns over sleeping constantly due to body aches and fatigue. he checked my temperature, throat and blood pressure (all fine) and declared "sleep is good!"

taking a break from emptying the moving truck to do a zoom meeting I couldn't skip – love to turn up red faced, sweaty and out of breath to the function.

posting that you've been up all night praying for your famous sister because she's "a little under the weather" is a great bit, more siblings of famous people should do it

i knew my inbox would be a mess when returning to work after being off sick just before a long weekend, but finding multiple messages from the same person following up about something they only sent at 4pm on friday is still a lot.

famous last words is an interesting – if entirely gimmicky – idea for a show, but it's hard to look past the fact they've entrusted these supposedly monumental final interviews with cultural icons to mr gwyneth paltrow, one of the creators of glee, who has zero interviewing experience

bf fell asleep during a video call while leaning on his arm and now it looks like he's sleeping while flexing, it's very cute

we were meant to move in together when my lease ends next week, but with the limbo the search for a place stalled. i'm very grateful my parents are willing and able to let me stay temporarily while i keep looking and we sort things out but it doesn't make it feel any less like i'm moving backwards.
bf was meant to move here this month but our plans have been derailed by good old fashioned bureaucracy, and it suddenly feels ten times harder when there's no end date in sight. i know we'll be together eventually, but it's excruciating not knowing how long it'll be while things are stuck in limbo.

i don't have a personal opinion because the last time i even vaguely kept up with current music was when i swapped cds with friends to put on my ipod nano, but it's objectively funny that they've reached the "i'm actually glad it's not good, because that means she's happy" stage of parasocial fandom

She'll always be Hyacinth to many (vividly remember first "getting" the running gag of her unseen gay son and his roommate Tarquin) but she was also a Tony and Olivier winner. Worked with Sydney Poitier, Vincent Price, Antony Sher, Alan Bennett, Victoria Wood. What a career. youtu.be/UKTviQNM6KA?...

one of the hardest parts of long-distance is missing the warmth of his body and rumble of his breath as we sleep. it's been 4 months since our last reunion and a video call while one of us falls asleep and the other naps is the closest thing to capturing the pure serenity I feel in his arms. fuck.

woke up early today so the real estate could host a rental inspection to find a new tenant and exactly one person showed up. i'm sure she felt super welcome being greeted by the over enthusiastic twink agent only to find three bleary eyed housemates standing in the lounge waiting to go back to bed.

went to a friend of a friend's house birthday party. my friend had to run but I didn't want to seem rude and stayed until cake, the polite exit time. except afterwards the immediate mass exodus was even quicker than I expected so suddenly I was the last straggler still finding my shoes. awful. 0/10.
