At least when I die from lack of healthcare, I'll have the satisfaction of having spent much of my life as a shiftless sonofabitch who's never really achieved anything, and won't be left to wonder why God and country have forsaken me.

We're currently living in A Plague Tale, but folks are still out there serving papers, hoping that'll make it stop.

Muting every word, just all the words, because I feel like if I leave and come back in two weeks, none of this will have had any effect whatsoever. Nobody's being dethroned or imprisoned or executed. Nothing substantial will occur to anyone involved.

Would love to be wrong, please prove me wrong.

I'll have to think about my first sitcom crush, but my first TV crush was probably Letitia "Buddy" Lawrence on Family (1976-1980). Though I likely first saw Kristy McNichol on an episode of The Bionic Woman or Starsky & Hutch.

She's ten years older than I am, so I was like four to her fourteen.

Not to keep bellyaching on the same issue, but here's another Six Degrees situation. The one question I missed wasn't about The Andy Griffith Show, it was about The Beverly Hillbillies.

Robert G. Elliott was the New York State Electrician from 1926–1939. A keen gardener and a quiet family man, Elliott executed 387 people. Despite his calling, he profoundly disagreed with capital punishment, saying that it served no useful purpose.

Same make and model as the Satellite I drove my senior year of high school, 1989-1990. My granddaddy paid $400 for it. The original specs are a bit different, as is the refurbishment, but this still feels very familiar to me.

Of all the cars I've owned, one of the few I wish I'd held onto.

And if you're heading into that darkest part of the human heart, WUSA (1970) pairs well with Roger Corman's The Intruder (1962).

**WARNING! Period appropriate but wildly unpleasant language ahead.**

And yet that was always such an effective strategy for me, which I'm sure plays no role in my dying miserable and alone.
Lmao fuck no. Especially when someone is flirting by teasing me, I’m like “oh they hate me, fair.”
Can you tell when a person is crushing on you?

Somehow, Rachel Ward found time between contemporary takes on classic Film Noir to star in Steve Martin's laugh-a-minute love letter to the genre, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982).

Reminder that Rachel Ward starred in two notable 1980s Neo-noir, both retellings of classic 1940s Film Noir.
Sharky's Machine (1981) is basically a quasi remake of Laura (1944) via Dirty Harry in Atlanta.
Against All Odds (1984) is a more straightforward updating of Out of the Past (1947).

Judge Caulfield: It's always been a game, only now the bad guys have a stronger team, got a better draft.

Judge Hardin: You know I took a lot of notes in your class and I can never remember you saying anything quite like that.

Judge Caulfield: You should have taken fewer notes and listened more.

Currently watching Sorry, Wrong Number (1948). Contrary to what the poster suggests, Burt Lancaster never backhands Barbara Stanwyck. But you'll probably want to about five minutes into her incessant squawking. By the end of the movie, the mystery isn't who wants this woman dead but who doesn't?

Some of these are like Six Degrees of Andy Griffith, which is fine, but really ought to be a separate quiz.
