And Flinders uni cutting researchers examining causes of algal bloom that has left 87000 animals dead. Are we actively trying to become stupider?

They include: climate intelligence and advice; unlocking net zero; waste; and valuing and restoring biodiversity, nature and healthy ecosystems.

More than 100 leaders have signed an open letter calling on the Albanese Government to back the COP30 Mutirão roadmap to phase out fossil fuels.

With over 80 nations already on board, Australia must choose: lead with integrity or fall further behind as the world moves on from coal and gas.

Smart countries don’t cut funding to their world-leading science and technology research organisations.

The Albanese government has to step up and provide adequate support for research and development in Australia - it has to invest in our future.
CSIRO to cut up to 350 research jobs in major overhaul
After 440 positions were slashed last year, the CSIRO has announced more staff cuts across the country in a bid to remain financially viable.

Do they think economy-wide emissions are like water from a kitchen tap and you can just turn the handle a bit to adjust flow whenever you feel like it? Childish garbage they should be called on.
The Coalition would reduce emissions "year on year" considering the "real performance" of other developed countries and strip climate from the objectives of the nation's energy operator under a plan negotiated between the Liberals and Nationals.

Migrants to Australia pay more in taxes than they claim in welfare, and their consumption and spending supports the country’s growth, writes Emily Barrett. The challenge for our leaders is to tell that story clearly. satpa.pe/o4AVt7a
Everything that’s wrong with this immigration debate
As anti-immigration sentiment is politicised around the world, new arrivals to Australia are being portrayed as detrimental to the economy – when in fact the opposite is true.

I genuinely don't understand how 6 months the LNP lost so many seats, they think that doubling down on climate scepticism, nuclear, culture wars and support for a genocidal war is a winning strategy. What frightens me is that they'll use whatever means they can to grow the audience for this message

Wouldn't it be refreshing for our political leaders to acknowledge that AUKUS is the worst deal in history and that Australia shouldn't be tied to what is fast becoming a fascist state, led by a demented criminal who might just decide to set off a nuke because someone hurt his feelings?
"These submarines will lock us into the warlike activities of nuclear weapon states.

"It is a complete repudiation of decades of Australian anti-nuclear weapons policy."

Machiavellian antics in the LNP are irrelevant. Start asking questions about why the government approved the NW shelf expansion when they had the national climate risk assessment in their back pockets. Why did they allow a massive carbon bomb then tell us we have to cut emissions?
To journalists various: the issue is not whether the coalition tears itself apart over climate denialism… the issue is whether we do what we can to save our home.
Stop reporting the goddam horse race.

When ambition and power become primary motivators, instead of the common good, a political party is lost. The coalition should go home and rethink their role in australian politics - i hope Australians build on their contempt for divisive politics - we're all seeing the results of that in Trumpland
There is no coherent vision for Australia in their ranks – only ambition, entitlement and resentment. They’re out of touch with younger Australians, with working families, with the future itself. In place of policy, they offer culture wars.
