Well hi folks! I should introduce myself…

I’ve dedicated my life to supporting Democrats running in some of the reddest districts in the country…

and encouraging grassroots folks to come into their power.

There’s a lot in between, of course. So happy to meet you. 💙
“I have to face the reality that I am probably going to become a late-stage cancer patient who’s uninsured,” Montgomery said.

“I have fought this so hard. I want to live.”

Heartbreaking. Rage-inducing. Infuriating.

Shame on Republicans for doing this to people. Shame on them.

Those of us who’ve had to negotiate with/navigate narcissists recognize this behavior. Negotiating against yourself - compromising huge parts of yourself for the hope of a sliver in return.

Dems should engage a team of therapists and psychologists to help them appreciate what they’re up against.
Reporter: What do you say to your colleagues who say this isn't a fight, this is a capitulation?

Shaheen: We have a guaranteed vote by a guaranteed date…

Reporter: There is no guarantee that this will become law.

Shaheen: There was never a guarantee that it would be become law.

A winning message.

For Democrats.

🌊🌊🌊
Trump: "What the Democrats will do is make Puerto Rico a state, make DC a state, they're gonna pack the Court. They're gonna end up with more electoral votes. They're gonna end up with 4 senators. And they're gonna do this 100%."

That part. 💙
If it can happen in Mississippi, it can happen in Missouri.
Democrats have flipped 2 seats in the Mississippi senate, and in so doing they've broken the GOP's supermajority in the chamber.

This is what happens when you run resourced, supported candidates in every race.

We make progress when we make an effort. For too long, we’ve conceded red, rural spaces.

No more. No more “strategic surrender.”

Good morning to everyone who woke up still smiling from all the hopescrolling they did last night. 💙

It’s a good feeling, no?

Welcome to today, friend. Rested. Recharged.

Now, LFG. 💙

Narrator: Mississippi is not blue.
Johnson: What happened last night was blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. No one should read too much into last night's election results. Off year elections are not indicative of what's to come. That’s what history teaches us.

If you're excited by last night's results – THIS is why we do what we do! 💙
Last night, Democrats flipped 3 seats in MISSISSIPPI, breaking the supermajority in their state legislature. Democrats showed up and made massive gains in red districts all over the country.

If you want to help do that in Missouri, HI! 👋👋 That is literally why we exist!

Run everywhere, friends.

Be confident in the power of the people.

Yesterday’s results show the power of running everywhere.

I’ve been banging this drum for years - the need to field and fund candidates in every district in every race in every election.

We’ve always had the power, friends.

We just had to tap into it.

And there’s a reason fascists go after artists and creatives.
There's a reason this 1905 illustration has gone viral.

The great Canadian-American artist William Balfour Ker captured the gilded elite dancing above the suffering of workers— their wealth literally built on the backs of the hungry below.

Look forward?

When people ask why we crowdfund for underfunded Dems running in some of the reddest, roughest, toughest places in the country, I remind them that voter depression is a form of voter suppression.

We run to give options, to provide connection, to spark hope.

Run everywhere, friends. Run everywhere.

Reading and rereading headlines this morning.

And it just stuns me the level of intellectual flexibility and emotional maturity that is required to truly process *waves hands generally.*

This isn't for the faint of heart. There's a reason we are tired, spent, depleted.

But we carry on, anyway. 💙

It’s a real problem when the people making policy are not the people making dinner.
Why do people buy pizza with EBT?

Because cauliflower is five dollars a head and you can buy five pizzas with the same money.

It’s not that folks don’t want to be healthy. They can’t afford to be healthy.

While the government is shut down, families are facing holidays with slashed food budgets and tariffs on toys, insurance premiums and inflation are spiking...

Trump hosts an opulent Great Gatsby party and brags about a bathroom renovation.

It reminded me of a fateful French banquet in 1789. 🧵
