Red-state Democrat helping Democrats fight everywhere; co-founder and ED of Every State Blue. Champion of grassroots action. Recovering lawyer. Gardener. Painter. I've been told I smile too much.
When people ask why we crowdfund for underfunded Dems running in some of the reddest, roughest, toughest places in the country, I remind them that voter depression is a form of voter suppression.

We run to give options, to provide connection, to spark hope.

Run everywhere, friends. Run everywhere.

But it all started because peasant women in a Paris market who couldn't afford dusty bread were outraged at the King’s extravagant banquet.

One woman struck a drum, many followed, and history was made.

That story feels especially relevant today...

P.S. Don't underestimate the power of one woman.

They turned their attention to Versailles and began the 12-mile walk (in the rain) to the palace.

Imagine the sight of thousands of women descending on the opulence of Versailles–muddied, soaking wet, pulling two cannons, armed with household items and their incandescent feminine rage.

Terrifying.

I’m not usually at a loss for words, but being reposted by @hcrichardson.bsky.social has left me speechless… 💙

If you were inspired by protesters standing up deep in the heart of Red America – then you know why I co-founded Every State Blue.

We crowdfund for Dems running against all the odds. Not despite the fact that their race is hard, but because it is. 🧵

St Louis showed up, friends.

It rained nonstop, start to finish.

Didn’t matter. We march.

This is what democracy looks like. 💙

Embedded video crews maximize the production value of fascism. Get enough clips and you can tell whatever story suits you.

The reality tv president knows how to manufacture the reality he wants people to see.

It’s the only thing he has ever excelled at.

You don't say.

The pain from these cuts will be felt by people everywhere. Because people everywhere need healthcare and affordable insurance.

We should fix this because it's the right thing to do. For everyone, everywhere.

I hate to disappoint people.

Usually.

The GOP’s “clean” continuing resolution is pretty dirty.

Because it goes to Nov 21.

But ACA open enrollment starts November 1. THREE WEEKS BEFORE.

So premiums would be locked in.

And by signing on, Dems would be giving up their main argument before negotiations even start.

That’s not “clean”.

Everywhere I go, I see more and more people engaged and ready and looking for ways to help.

They thought we'd stay quiet and isolated and overwhelmed and alone.

Surprise. 💙

When they go low, we go …everywhere. Lfg, friends. LFG.

This is incredible. A 55-year-old couple making $85k will lose their ACA subsidies and go from premiums of $7,225 to $24,535.

Their monthly bill will more than TRIPLE – going from a $602/month premium payment to a $2,044/month payment.

That's mostly because of the loss of ACA subsidies. 1/

Darn delightful to see @piperformissouri.bsky.social and @fpwellman.bsky.social, State Rep Rachel Proudie and 6th district candidate Josh Smead at the Lincoln County Dems!

So glad to be working arm in arm with folks trying to make this state and country better. Community matters, friends. 💙💙

Last thing on a long to-do list - done! Picked up the buttons just in the nick of time.

Being the ED of an org that supports Red state Dems isn’t glamorous. It’s always busy. Sometimes sweaty. Often resource-scarce.

But always, always, always rewarding.

Ps - let me know if you want a button. 💙

Sinclair Broadcasting, which owns 185 local stations (which keep their ABC/CBS/NBC branding) and appears in just under 40% of American households, jumped on board, too.

Sinclair's owner told Trump in 2016 that Sinclair was there to share Trump's message, period.

That focus didn't end in 2016.

Carr wants to eliminate the FCC rule that caps ownership of stations reaching more than 39% of American households.

Sinclair owns 185 stations and currently reaches 39% of American households.

A few months ago I started getting emails from DJT. I’m not sure why, because I never signed up for them (obv) but it’s been interesting to see what his team focuses on each day.

The subject line this morning is … interesting.

To say the least.

Was looking for the proposed GOP gerrymander of Missouri and found what looks to be the White House version.

Unsure of source.
