Nearly unanimous bipartisan support for expanding and planning Virtual Power Plant resources that would bring much-needed flexibility to our grid in CA - and save all of us $$$. Disappointed (is the polite word) in Gov. Newsom’s baffling veto. 💡🔌 @advancedenergyunited.org
California could save billions of dollars in grid and energy costs by tapping rooftop solar, batteries, EVs, and smart appliances as virtual power plants. Why did Governor Gavin Newsom veto three widely supported VPP bills meant to enable those savings?

So incredibly proud of the @advancedenergyunited.org team that’s been working this for nearly a decade. A western grid and market will lower costs and help keep the lights on, across the region. Let’s go! 💡🔌
United’s Edson Perez joined the signing of #AB825 today with @governor.ca.gov! This legislation paves the way for an independently governed energy market that will increase grid reliability, deploy more renewables, & lower costs for consumers in #California & across the West!

Yes to this opinion piece by @advancedenergyunited.org member Enel about the power of flexibility in meeting rising electricity demand. Let’s make the grid flexible! 💡🔌 www.utilitydive.com/news/as-pjm-...
As PJM prices rise, flexibility can’t be ignored
Rather than viewing rising capacity costs as simply a burden, energy users should understand them as incentives for more efficient and dynamic loads.

Solar & wind provided more than 50% of the power today as a heat dome settled over Texas driving temperatures into the 90s in most of the state. It'll be hotter tomorrow but there's lots of extra capacity. Renewables & batteries increase reliability.
