I like math and making stuff

Building LaTeX tools: TexSandbox.com, TeXipedia.com

ex: dropbox, google, yc
Playing with a new TeXipedia feature: "Draw to Search"

Try it out: texipedia.com

What do you think?

Cursor is gradually becoming more agentic for coding. But it's a spectrum, not a binary

I suspect the path toward "agents" will look like this

Start with vertical SMEs in a tight human feedback loop, then slowly improve

Claude's new "custom styles" feature is sweet!

LLMs are becoming a sort of "meta-compiler" of text -> anything

I'm now using Claude to "compile" my high level intent to more precise style instructions for...itself as a text compiler

This is getting so meta and I love it 🥰

New favorite LLM coding hack I use all the time:

Ask Claude to change my code in some way...but say "no code yet, let's discuss approaches first"

The model gets to think more, and I get to course correct approach & trade-offs in low-fidelity before it gets in the weeds 😍

How do we get Benedict Evans to start posting over here?

Threads sucks, and I want to hear more of his thoughts on this: www.ben-evans.com/presentations
Presentations — Benedict Evans
Every year, I produce a big presentation exploring macro and strategic trends in the tech industry. For 2024, ‘AI, and everything else’.

One tiny productivity hack I’ve found is just putting the filename at the top of every code file

Then when I select all + copy/paste to an LLM, it has more context and keeps the artifacts straight

We love links because we love the open web
It is so incredibly nice to have a social platform that values links again - a breath of fresh air in the poisoned ecosystem of the creator economy

I like this quote.

But if a system is not an object, how do you influence it?

I love that you can just link to stuff here, like the Internet gods intended

TeXipedia is an example of what I call an "offline AI" app.

What I mean is an app that uses AI to generate content at *build* time, not runtime.

The advantage of this approach is an app can be entirely static/SSG, i.e. extremely fast and super cheap to host.

Here, I used...
LaTeX is the gold standard for technical writing.

But I can never remember all the symbol commands, can you?

So I made TeXipedia.com, a free site to find symbols fast.

Give it a spin. Would love any feedback. How can I make it better?
