finished my Christmas shopping earlier than I have the last many years, and it feels great. but the best part was finding something that wasn't on my brother's list for $30 off and that I know he'll be happy to get. 🙌

the lights are out in the garage so all I have is a lantern that doesn't reach very far, and tonight when I went to feed the outside cats, I just caught something scurrying back into the basement. friends, it was a skunk. I scared a skunk that had come out of hiding to eat the cat food. I'M DONE 😱😭

re my repost: I hope people support Apex Magazine and others like it. one thing I've noticed when looking at Kickstarters for anthologies is just how much of an unevenness there is between how many people actually monetarily support them and how many people submit during the open calls

Real talk.

We need 300 new subscribers (including renewals) to keep publishing issues at our current size. If we don't get hit that number we will need to scale back the magazine size.

Help us keep our size (or increase it!) over the next two weeks!

a little intro post for those who don't know me: I'm Holly! I live in Michigan w/ my family and an abundance of rescue cats. I'm always striving to push myself, & I dabble in many genres & categories, but the topics that seem to invariably wander into my stories: angry girls, mental health, & death.
